Center for Development Research and
Interventions (CDRI)

Center for Development Research and Interventions (Here in after referred to as “CDRI”) is a medium scale research organization with limited scope and staff employed depending on the availability of project funding. It has been taking up small research projects from time to time from several UN agencies, Universities and non-governmental organizations in Sri Lanka and elsewhere. The guidelines and particular decisions relating to requirements of the projects that it undertakes are decided by the board of directors in line with the donor agency’s guidance. In principle, CDRI is guided by the statutes, laws and policies
of the government of Sri Lanka that pertain to the activities

 of non-governmental organizations as well as all aspects of its functions. CDRI also adheres to the policies of funding agencies during the period of utilization of funds granted to CDRI. Further CDRI also adheres to the relevant international covenants on the specific policies mentioned in the preceding paragraphs. CDRI expects from its employees, trustees, volunteers, interns, trainees, contractors, consultants, partners, and other representatives working for or on behalf of the organization in any capacity to adhere to the following laid down policies and guidelines.

Our Mission

The Center for Development Research and Interventions (CDRI) is a non-profit organization founded to conduct social science and behavioral research and to identify social and behavioral interventions that offer solutions to the numerous socioeconomic, health and other problems in Sri Lanka and elsewhere. In addition to making recommendations to relevant authorities, the CDRI aims to devise strategies to intervene directly to ameliorate problems, create awareness among the general public through the media, and enhance the social capital of communities.
